Job Description

• Create, analyze, and maintain appropriate production materials.
• Generate and monitor purchase orders and contracts.
• Negotiate pricing and manage complex RFP programs with suppliers.
• Research/Source for new suppliers and participates in plant audits.
• Work with the operations team to quality inspect products upon arrival.
• Manage and upkeep product specifications and descriptions in cooperation with R&D and QA.
• Perform extensive market research on supplies and vendors.
• Provide regular reviews of suppliers as well as identify positive financial outcomes to increase profitability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, agribusiness, economics, or relevant degree.
• 3+ years' experience in the food manufacturing industry working with packaging and plant supplies.
• Experience developing a process to manage a packaging purchasing program.
• Experience building meaningful relationships with vendors while holding them accountable to key metrics.
• Track record using creative problem solving to develop a value chain projects to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
• Superior interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and written.
• Ability to engage with individuals inside and outside of the organization and exercise sound judgement.
