About the role

Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for the Engineering department, including technical, disciplinary, and organizational leadership of all assigned departments.
  • Strategic development of the Engineering department, including goal definition and long-term development planning in line with corporate strategy.
  • Management and coordination of all engineering activities in customer, development, and technology projects from the offer phase to commissioning.
  • Responsibility for efficient, cross-departmental collaboration and active interface management with relevant company departments.
  • Ensuring efficient processes, clearly defined interfaces, and on-time, norm- and quality-compliant technical documentation.
  • Cost and budget responsibility with a focus on economic efficiency, quality, time-to-market, and continuous process optimization.
  • Fostering an innovation-, quality-, and performance-oriented development culture and targeted professional and personal development of employees.

Qualifications

  • Completed Master's degree in Engineering or a comparable technical qualification.
  • Several years of professional experience in engineering in mechanical and plant construction, ideally in a medium-sized environment (food industry is an advantage).
  • Several years of management experience with technical and disciplinary responsibility and operational proximity to the team.
  • Strategic thinking combined with implementation strength.
  • Sound knowledge of technical project management and the ability to make clear, prioritized decisions and take responsibility.
  • Broad technical understanding (e.g., special machine construction, electromechanical systems), combined with a view of the big picture and a feel for relevant details.
  • Strong communication and social skills.
