Your Main Tasks
Strategic and Technical Responsibility
- Responsibility for the strategic orientation and further development of software development in line with company goals
- Cross-functional control and prioritization of the technical implementation of requirements in close coordination with product management, product owners, platform operations, and relevant stakeholders
- Ensuring efficient, scalable, and high-quality software development across all teams
- Establishment and governance of development, QA, and delivery standards as well as best practices, e.g., regarding architecture
- Promotion of a future-oriented technology landscape through evaluation and introduction of new technologies and methods
- Responsibility for continuous improvement of delivery capability, time-to-market, and technical maturity as well as sustainable business success
Leadership and Personnel Responsibility
- Technical and disciplinary leadership of the teams: Frontend, Backend, Product Owner Team, Quality Assurance
- Building, motivating, and developing a high-performing engineering team and empowering team leads
- Conducting annual employee reviews, feedback, and development discussions
Project and Process Management
- Responsibility for the cross-functional control and successful implementation of development initiatives
- Ensuring adherence to deadlines, budgets, quality, and performance indicators
- Close collaboration with management, platform operations, and other stakeholders
- Continuous optimization of technical and business processes and introduction of efficient tools and methods
Innovation and Continuous Improvement
- Promotion of an innovation-driven, quality-oriented engineering culture
- Initiation and support of transformation and improvement projects
What You Should Bring
- Completed degree in computer science or engineering
- Focus on software development with deep technical understanding
- Many years of professional experience in software development (>= 10 years), ideally in various roles and technology environments
- Proven leadership experience (>= 5 years) in managing interdisciplinary teams
- Sound knowledge of modern software architectures, development processes, and quality assurance approaches
- Strategic thinking, high implementation and results orientation
- Strong communication and leadership skills as well as decisiveness
- Sense of responsibility and entrepreneurial thinking
