As Director of Engineering, you will lead across this full lifecycle, shaping technically demanding renewable, T&D and process infrastructure projects that directly advance a just and practical energy transition. Purpose of the position: The Director of Engineering: New Fields is a pivotal leadership position responsible for overseeing and guiding the engineering, design, approval, and commissioning activities for Proconics’ transmission and distribution infrastructure projects. This role is integral to the successful execution of Proconics' mission to modernize and extend heavy industry infrastructures within an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) context. The Director will play a crucial role in steering the engineering team to deliver projects that meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance, while fostering innovation and growth within new industrial verticals. Strategic Context Proconics is engaged with clients and project developers on a number of new and exciting projects within the chemical processing industry. These require a dedicated team of capable process, mechanical, civil, electrical, instrumentation and control capabilities to deliver to exacting standards. While all these disciplines exist within the greater Proconics, they are already deployed on projects for existing clients. The Director will be responsible for designing, implementing and filling the structures required to be successful for large, new multidisciplinary infrastructure projects. The Director will need to develop and implement improvements to Proconics’ existing engineering management systems to ensure quality. Qualifications/Experience To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The minimum requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required: BSc /BEng in Engineering. ECSA Pr. Eng/Pr. Tech Eng More than 10 years’ experience in EPC or consulting project environments. Strong understanding of PMBOK principles. Extensive experience in HV transmission and distribution or multidisciplinary industrial projects. Demonstrated ability to manage multidisciplinary engineering teams. Strong technical and commercial background. Demonstrated strong strategic planning capability. Excellent and clear communication. Excellent and visible ethics. Strong executive and client engagement capability. Required outputs and responsibilities The Director will be responsible to ensure that Proconics New Fields has the engine to produce the engineering and design deliverables that form the heart of any successful EPC project. This includes: Leadership and Execution Lead the planning, execution and delivery of the engineering for complex infrastructure projects. Focused initially on HV transmission and distribution engineering. Over the next year develop the leadership structures for multidisciplinary engineering required to develop the infrastructure for new chemical processing facilities. Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of all project phases from conception to commissioning. Ensure designs meet international and client standards. Oversee the detailed engineering, technical procurement, and technical/quality hold points within construction. Supervise a diverse team of multidisciplinary engineers and designers. Implement engineering best practices and methodologies. Manage multidisciplinary interface. Maintain rigorous attention to detail.
