Director/ Regional Chief Engineer(1st shift)

About

This working Regional Chief will manage 1 Class A commercial office building ~200K sqft in DC while providing oversight to several chief engineers across the DC and Northern VA portfolio. Travel within region is expected.

Responsibilities

• Run day-to-day operations at the home building; lead crew briefings and work alongside the engineering team.
• Manage and develop chief engineers across DMV portfolio; serve as their escalation point and technical authority.
• Diagnose building system issues; advise PMs on in-house vs. vendor repairs.
• Operate central plant equipment: chillers, boilers, cooling towers, AHUs, fan coil and induction units, pumps.
• Oversee life safety, fire pump and generator checks, sprinkler and alarm coordination.
• Support build-outs, capital projects, elevator upgrades, and construction sequencing.
• Standardize maintenance protocols across the portfolio.
• Assist with budgets, variance tracking, and vendor management.
• Support succession planning and chief engineer recruitment, especially at Reston.

Requirements

• 10+ years commercial office engineering, with multi-building or regional oversight experience.
• Prior experience managing chief engineers across multiple sites and experience developing engineers.
• HVAC expertise; able to read technical plans and drawings.
• Boiler and Pneumatics experience required
• BMS implementation a strong plus;
• Proficient in Excel, Word, work order platforms.
• Valid driver's license.
