Director of Cloud Engineering

The Opportunity

This role sits within a large, established semiconductor company based in Dallas. They’re hiring a Director of Public & Private Cloud to own strategy and execution across both on-prem and public environments. You’ll connect currently siloed cloud functions, lead a large global engineering team, and drive real delivery, not just design.

What You’ll Do

• Own strategy and execution across private and public cloud
• Lead a 50–100+ person global org across US and India
• Connect siloed cloud environments into one platform
• Turn existing strategy into actual delivery and outcomes
• Guide and influence senior architects and engineers
• Build trust and autonomy across a large engineering org
• Oversee Kubernetes, compute, GPU, storage, and cloud infrastructure
• Drive reliability, performance, and cost efficiency

Technology Environment

• AWS plus exposure to Azure or GCP
• Kubernetes-based private cloud platforms
• Terraform, Ansible, Python
• Open-source tooling and internal platforms

Required Experience

• 12+ years in cloud, infrastructure, or platform engineering
• 5+ years leading managers and senior technical leaders
• Experience owning both private and public cloud (core requirement)
• Strong private cloud plus public cloud across major providers
• Background building internal platforms or IaaS
• Strong networking, security, and distributed systems knowledge
• Proven executor who drives delivery, not just strategy
