The Alexander Technology Group is looking for a Director of Engineering for a software development client in the Woburn, MA area.

Requirements

Hands-on leadership role within a small team. You will lead engineers, own architecture, and contribute directly to code while shaping product direction.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a small engineering team
• Write production code and own technical architecture
• Deliver roadmap initiatives, including AI-driven features
• Partner with cross-functional teams and leadership
• Communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Manage offshore resources and support hiring efforts

Qualifications

• 8–10+ years of engineering experience, including leadership
• Strong hands-on coding background
• Experience with data-intensive or SaaS platforms
• Familiarity with AI/ML applications
• Startup or high-growth environment experience preferred

Tech Stack

• Backend: Kotlin, Python
• Frontend: React, TypeScript
• Data: SQL, cloud data platforms (Snowflake)
• Cloud: AWS, GCP
• AI/ML tools and modern development frameworks
