About the location:

Timeless elegance and iconic glamour on the Côte d'Azur. With a guestbook signed by everyone from Elizabeth Taylor to Winston Churchill and an enviable perch overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, the palatial spread of the Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat, A Four Seasons Hotel has been the epitome of Côte d’Azur chic for more than a century. Today, sumptuous rooms with views from Nice to Monaco, Michelin-starred Provençal and Mediterranean cuisine and a lively pool club keep this landmark hotel at the forefront of Riviera life.

Within this context of absolute excellence, we are seeking our future Director of Engineering (M/F), a member of the Executive Committee, responsible for ensuring the reliability, safety and long-term sustainability of all the site’s technical installations.

Your Role

Reporting directly to the Executive Office, you define, lead and implement the hotel’s technical strategy, in strict compliance with Four Seasons standards, regulatory requirements and the Company’s CSR commitments.

As a true leader of technical operations, you maintain a strong on-site presence, guide your teams toward operational excellence and actively contribute to the exceptional quality of the guest experience.

Your leadership, technical expertise and long-term vision are essential to enhancing, protecting and preserving this exceptional heritage property.

Your Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Management

  • Lead, unite and develop a multidisciplinary technical team (maintenance technicians, gardeners, pool technicians, external contractors).
  • Foster a culture of excellence, service and accountability.
  • Ensure continuous training, coaching and skills development across the teams.
  • Guarantee the rigorous application of Four Seasons procedures and all applicable local regulations.
  • Act as a hands-on, visible, committed and exemplary leader.

Operations Management

  • Oversee all preventive, corrective and statutory maintenance operations across the property.
  • Serve as the technical authority in key disciplines: HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems (high and low voltage), fire safety systems, pool hydraulics.
  • Ensure full regulatory compliance and the safety of guests, employees and assets.
  • Optimize the use of the CMMS and continuously improve maintenance programs.

Project, Performance and Budget Management

  • Plan, coordinate and oversee major maintenance, renovation and continuous improvement projects.
  • Manage external contractors and ensure compliance with timelines, budgets and Four Seasons quality standards.
  • Actively contribute to the hotel’s long-term asset management and capital planning strategy.
  • Prepare, manage and control annual Opex and Capex budgets.
  • Define clear priorities and ensure rigorous financial tracking and reporting.
  • Optimize costs while consistently maintaining the expected level of excellence.

Energy Efficiency and CSR

  • Monitor and analyze water, electricity and gas consumption through Group platforms and internal reporting tools.
  • Propose, implement and lead action plans aimed at reducing consumption and improving energy performance.
  • Identify and drive optimization opportunities (efficiency gains, automation, intelligent scheduling).

About You

  • You hold a higher education degree in engineering, maintenance management or an equivalent discipline.
  • You bring a minimum of 5 to 10 years’ proven experience in a Director of Engineering or equivalent senior technical role, ideally within luxury hospitality or a highly complex operating environment.
  • You have recognized technical expertise across key building systems (HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, public building regulations, fire safety systems, CMMS).
  • You are a strong people leader with excellent organizational, communication and crisis management skills.
  • You demonstrate a strong awareness of CSR, sustainability and energy performance, supported by analytical and data-driven decision-making.
  • You are fully fluent in both French and professional English.
  • You possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective interaction with Executive Management, operational teams and external partners.
