About the role

Director of Engineering Amsterdam (hybrid – flexible) €160,000 – €200,000 + meaningful equity

We’re working with a SaaS company in Amsterdam that’s just raised a meaningful round of funding and is now properly stepping on the gas. They’ve got a product that’s already landed well in the market - strong customers, real usage, and a clear roadmap ahead. Now they need someone to come in and own engineering at the next stage of growth .

This isn’t a “keep things ticking over” kind of position. You’ll be responsible for scaling the engineering team, improving how things are built and shipped, and working closely with product to shape what gets built next . Right now the team is around 15 engineers. The plan is to grow that significantly over the next 12–18 months, and you’ll be central to making that happen in a way that doesn’t break the culture or slow things down.

You’ll spend your time: • Leading and supporting engineering managers and senior ICs • Partnering with Product and Design on roadmap and priorities • Improving delivery without introducing unnecessary process • Hiring well - not just fast • Creating an environment where good engineers actually want to stay

What they’re looking for They’re not overly rigid on background, but a few things matter: • You’ve scaled engineering teams in a SaaS environment • You’re comfortable operating in a product-led company • You’ve managed managers , not just individuals • You care about how things are built , not just that they get shipped • You can operate at both strategy level and in the detail when needed
