Director of Engineering

This role will oversee NPI, tooling, and manufacturing engineering functions while driving process optimization, operational excellence, and strong cross-functional collaboration. Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction to a team of 7–9 engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture
• Drive alignment between engineering initiatives and overall business objectives
• Oversee NPI, tooling, and manufacturing engineering processes
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and product quality
• Manage engineering projects from concept to execution, ensuring timelines and quality standards are met
• Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, sales, and other teams to ensure clear communication and execution
• Establish metrics and KPIs to drive operational excellence and data-driven decision-making
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, customers, and suppliers
• Provide technical leadership in cable and harness assembly processes (molding, shielding, termination)
• Lead design-for-manufacturing (DFM) and process optimization initiatives

Requirements

• Background in Arespace or Electrical Components in general
• Proven leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience managing engineering teams (NPI, tooling, manufacturing engineers)
• Strong background in process improvement and operational excellence
• Experience with ERP systems
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Strong problem-solving mindset and hands-on leadership approach

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience in cable and harness assembly
• Knowledge of DFM and advanced manufacturing processes
• Background in continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma)
