Your Role and Impact
The Director of Supply Chain Engineering will spearhead the implementation of innovative automation, robotics, and technology solutions that are vital for Lowe's Supply Chain Transformation. This pivotal role involves creating transformative engineered solutions that enhance our multi-node Distribution Center network.
We seek a leader with a robust engineering background who has successfully led large‑scale automation and robotics projects. You will collaborate with various technical and business functions, building influential relationships and helping to manage key enterprise initiatives. You should also exemplify strong managerial skills to lead and develop a talented team of Field, Senior, and Principal Engineers while attracting top engineering talent.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee a significant portfolio of automation and technology projects, contributing to critical business strategies within Lowe's Supply Chain.
- Engage in proactive exploration of future automation needs, demonstrating thought leadership and industry benchmarking.
- Craft and manage strategic roadmaps for automation and robotics technologies over a three‑year timeframe.
- Define both short‑ and long‑term vision and strategies for project portfolios, building solid business cases and resolving challenges.
- Participate in defining and negotiating supplier contracts.
- Provide strategic advice to senior leadership and stakeholders on improvements to meet business objectives.
- Drive efficiencies and best practices, establishing a unified approach for Distribution Center Operations.
- Lead and manage a diverse team of 8‑10 engineers to ensure successful project implementation.
- Mentor and coach team members, focusing on talent development and building future leaders.
- Foster cross‑functional partnerships and collaborative efforts within the organization.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field and 10 years of experience in industrial engineering and supply chain operations.
- 10 years’ experience in developing and implementing automation and robotics solutions.
- 10 years of combined experience in Engineering and multiple Supply Chain disciplines (e.g., Operations, Finance, Transportation).
- Demonstrated experience driving new ideas and integrating technology in complex environments.
- A proven record managing multi‑million‑dollar project portfolios.
- Experience developing and influencing key relationships with stakeholders and leadership.
- Proficiency in navigating supplier contracts and negotiations.
- Strong executive presence with excellent communication skills.
- Acute business and financial acumen.
- Experience leading, managing, and developing teams effectively.
Preferred Skills/Education
- Master's Degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
- 7 years of experience in engineering and supply chain operations.
