This is a strong opportunity to join one of the Big 4 consulting firms as a Director, building out the Urban Solutions practice while advising governments and infrastructure authorities on the delivery of some of the region’s most complex rail, transport, and urban infrastructure programmes.

You will sit at the centre of infrastructure strategy, programme governance, and delivery advisory, helping clients structure, fund, and deliver major infrastructure initiatives.

The Company

You will join their Urban Solutions practice, working with governments and public sector organisations to deliver large-scale infrastructure programmes across rail, roads, transport, and urban development.

With infrastructure investment accelerating across South Africa, Africa, and the Middle East, the firm is expanding its programme management & delivery advisory capability. This role will play a key leadership role in building and scaling that capability while advising on major infrastructure programmes across the region.

The Role

As Director of Programme Management, you will play a key role in building and scaling the Urban Solutions practice while playing a key role in the delivery of major public sector infrastructure programmes across rail, roads, and municipal development, with budgets in excess of R1bn.

You will advise clients on complex infrastructure programmes involving multiple stakeholders, significant capital investment, and challenging delivery environments.

The role focuses on establishing and growing a programme management advisory capability within the infrastructure sector, supporting clients with programme governance, implementation advisory, and delivery assurance on large-scale initiatives.

You will also contribute to the growth of the practice by developing programme delivery capabilities, leading complex client engagements, and supporting large-scale advisory opportunities.

Requirements

• 10–15 years’ experience in infrastructure programme management
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business, or related (Master’s advantageous)
• Programme management certification (PMP, PgMP or equivalent)
• Proven delivery of large-scale infrastructure programmes (R1bn+)
• Experience across transport, urban, or municipal infrastructure environments
• Strong stakeholder management across complex, multi-party environments
• Experience establishing or leading PMOs on major programmes
• Exposure to PPP or alternative delivery models advantageous
• Experience across Africa or other emerging markets beneficial
