This Director-level role leads the Enginuity -X team (Engineering Excellence) within the S&P Global Ratings Engineering organization. It is a distinctive opportunity for a transformational leader to define the future of enterprise Quality Engineering by advancing automation, performance, security, AI, usability, and accessibility in ways that accelerate innovation, strengthen resilience, and create lasting business value.

As a leader in Engineering Excellence, you will shape strategy and execution across delivery ARTs and senior stakeholders, serving as a visible catalyst for enterprise transformation. This role calls for executive presence, strategic vision, and thought leadership to elevate engineering capability, reduce delivery risk, and position Quality Engineering as a defining driver of customer trust, operational excellence, and sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set the enterprise vision for Quality Engineering, defining a forward-looking strategy that strengthens product quality, accelerates delivery, and advances business performance.
  • Lead transformation at scale by shaping the operating model, governance, and execution approach for Engineering Excellence across the organization.
  • Operate with executive presence and influence senior leaders across Product, Architecture, Delivery, and Engineering to align priorities, secure commitment, and drive change.
  • Translate strategic vision into measurable impact through roadmaps, investment priorities, and outcomes that improve efficiency, resilience, and quality at scale.
  • Provide thought leadership in modern quality engineering, shaping the organization's direction across automation, AI-driven testing, performance, security, resilience, and observability.
  • Elevate engineering productivity and confidence by embedding quality deeply within CI/CD, improving release readiness, and enabling faster, more dependable delivery.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 15+ years of experience in Software Development Engineering in Test (SDET), including 5+ years in senior leadership roles with responsibility for enterprise-scale transformation.
  • A proven record of building and leading modern Quality Engineering organizations that enhance delivery speed, quality, resilience, and business performance.
  • Strong executive presence with the credibility and influence to engage senior leaders, align diverse stakeholders, and lead through complexity and change.
  • Demonstrated strategic leadership and thought leadership across automation, performance, security, AI/ML, usability, and accessibility.
  • A track record of translating bold vision into execution through roadmaps, operating models, governance, and measurable business outcomes.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to shape narratives and influence executive, business, and technical audiences.
  • Hands-on experience with modern automation frameworks, cloud platforms, observability tools, and secure engineering practices.
  • A strong technical foundation in languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, SQL, and related tooling.
  • Experience building high-performing teams, developing future leaders, and shaping organizational capability at scale.
  • Knowledge of data privacy, compliance, and risk management practices in complex enterprise environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in regulated industries (finance, healthcare, telecom).
  • Exposure to AI/ML model testing and data observability.
  • Certifications in Azure, Data Engineering, or Quality Engineering frameworks.
