Our client is a leading, well-funded Independent Power Producer operating in the South African renewable energy sector.

The business develops, constructs, and operates utility-scale wind, solar PV, and battery energy storage projects, with a significant pipeline and operational footprint.

The Opportunity

This is a senior leadership role responsible for driving engineering strategy and execution across solar PV and hybrid projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the solar PV and hybrid engineering function
• Oversee technical development across the full project lifecycle
• Drive system design and optimisation
• Support development and bid teams
• Manage internal teams and external consultants
• Lead technical negotiations with contractors and suppliers
• Ensure alignment between design, construction, and operations
• Support operational assets
• Drive continuous improvement

Leadership

• Build and develop engineering teams
• Drive performance and technical excellence

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical or Mechatronic Engineering
• Extensive experience in utility-scale solar PV and hybrid systems
• Leadership experience
• Strong understanding of grid integration and high voltage systems
• Experience with PVSyst and related tools
• Knowledge of South African regulatory frameworks
