About the Role
As a Director, Technology to Market EMEA, you will lead a team and provide strategic leadership and regional accountability for overseeing the identification, assessment, prioritization, and advancement of critical or disruptive technology bricks in the innovation funnel. You will own the Technology‑to‑Market strategy for EMEA, including external funding and tax credits, and be accountable for understanding departmental strategic goals, R&D priorities, Data & AI programs, advanced reactors, and broader Westinghouse enterprise goals. You will establish processes, portfolio frameworks, and tools to accelerate innovation development, produce business cases, and assess impacts on competitive positioning. You will build collaborative relationships across Westinghouse and nurture strategic external partnerships (industry, academia, national laboratories, startups), promote a culture of disciplined execution, and represent Westinghouse as a leader within the EMEA innovation landscape.
Reports to: Senior Director of Strategic Innovation
Location: Orsay, France (Hybrid model)
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the Technology‑to‑Market strategy for EMEA, aligning with BU goals, strategic and technology roadmaps, and AI & I priorities.
- Provide leadership on potential technology investments, ensuring disciplined prioritization, balanced risk‑taking, and clear linkage between improvements and business impact.
- Define and lead the external funding strategy for EMEA, focusing on EU and EU Member State opportunities to increase Westinghouse’s capacity to innovate.
- Oversee and be accountable for the yearly consolidation of R&D Tax Credit claims for European subsidiaries as a strategic financing lever.
- Increase market‑responsive product offerings by supporting the stage‑gate process from brainstorming to SG3.
- Forge partnerships with internal departments (AI & I) and external partners to push technology bricks through the innovation funnel.
- Identify game‑changing and disruptive technology bricks to support forward‑looking business strategies.
- Shape and strengthen a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship across AI&I and Westinghouse globally.
- Guide the organization to publish papers in technical journals, contribute to joint technology development programs with national labs and universities, and leverage leading tech companies to accelerate technology brick development.
- Represent Westinghouse at the institutional level within the European innovation ecosystem (e.g., Nuclear Europe, SNETP) in coordination with Governmental Affairs, Strategy, and BU leadership.
Qualifications
- Minimum 15 years of experience, with 10+ years of progressive leadership responsibility and demonstrated accountability for strategy and cross‑functional execution.
- Higher academic degree.
- Experience leading large‑scale, cross‑cultural projects to completion.
- Ability to connect technology investments to financial and competitive outcomes.
- Deep capability in external partnership development and ecosystem leadership.
- Proven team‑leadership skills (mentoring, fostering a culture of continuous improvement).
- Ability to distill customer needs and direct appropriate technology approaches.
- Ability to summarize complex information for diverse audiences.
