The Disaster Recovery Project Manager will deliver critical advisory and strategic planning services to our recovery clients while leading a multi-disciplinary team. This position offers the flexibility to work remotely and may require travel to client locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as an expert in disaster recovery, demonstrating experience in guiding local governments through long-term recovery efforts following natural disasters, while effectively managing complex projects.
- Leverage knowledge of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Public Assistance (PA) Program - Permanent Work (Categories C-G) to address intricate issues and needs in a post-disaster context.
- Act as a subject matter expert on the FEMA PA Program, providing timely and informed responses to policy-related inquiries.
- Oversee a diverse team managing various elements of recovery, such as cost recovery, infrastructure redevelopment, economic development, housing, and social services.
- Assign tasks, assess resource needs, and develop methodologies to optimize funding.
- Maintain project management best practices, ensuring client transparency, high-quality deliverables, and alignment with Hagerty's core values: integrity, innovation, teamwork, and excellence.
Qualifications
- Experience supporting local governments affected by natural disasters through federal disaster grant programs, from initial response to grant closeout.
- A minimum of four (4) years of experience with the FEMA PA Program, particularly in Permanent Work (Categories C-G).
- Proven ability to manage complex and dynamic projects effectively.
- Exceptional written communication skills, including the ability to prepare detailed policy recommendation documents.
- Strong verbal communication skills with proficiency in presenting to high-level stakeholders.
- Experience managing workloads for large, multidisciplinary teams with varied experience levels, from junior associates to senior experts.
- Proficient in MS Office, databases, and various technology platforms.
- Bachelor's degree required.
Compensation
- Salary range of $115,000 - $150,000, with decisions based on a variety of factors such as skills, experience, training, certifications, internal equity, location, travel requirements, and organizational needs.
