What tasks await you?

• As a doctoral student (d/m/w/x), you will research and work for 3 years on the scientific foundation, further development, and validation of the AI FTE (AI Full-Time Equivalent) concept.
• The goal is to make AI-supported efficiency and productivity contributions in software engineering transparent, measurable, and practically usable.
• AI FTE serves as a calculation and transparency concept for representing productivity contributions through AI-based tools fully managed by humans – not as a headcount replacement and not as a performance or success guarantee.

• You have a very good Master's degree in Business Informatics, Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Industrial Engineering, or a comparable degree program.
• You have a strong interest in empirical research, metric models, and methodologically sound validation.
• You have a solid understanding of Software Engineering / SDLC and show great interest in AI-supported productivity (e.g., Copilots, agentic workflows, modern developer toolchains).
• You have very good skills in data analysis and modeling (e.g., Python, R, Statistics, Visualization, reproducible evaluations).
• Your strong communication skills and ability to convey complex issues understandably between Engineering, Management, Finance, and other stakeholders distinguish you.
• Ideally, you have experience with productivity, efficiency, or quality metrics in the software or technology environment.
• Knowledge in governance, process, or framework design, as well as initial contact with offering, delivery, or business partner models, are also advantageous.
• If you also have experience in knowledge transfer, enablement formats, workshops, or community work, that's a big plus.
