About Us

We, the Chair of Machine Learning and Vision (www.multimedia-computing.de) / Machine Learning & Computer Vision Lab (www.multimedia-computing.org), are always looking for excellent researchers who are passionate about science and pursuing a doctorate.

Our research focus is on machine learning and perception (vision/hearing/other sensor modalities). Current research topics include 3D pose/mesh estimation considering biomechanical models, spatio-temporal image sequence prediction, scene graph generation from videos, and the combination of deep neural networks with physical knowledge (physics-informed networks).

Requirements

We expect from you:

• an above-average university degree (Master's or equivalent) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related fields,
• enthusiasm for one of the research areas of the chair (Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Computational Intelligence, Learning from Sensor Data) and a desire to conduct research in this area,
• ideally, experience in the fields of machine perception (Computer Vision) and/or learning (Machine Learning),
• good programming skills in common high-level languages (e.g., Python, C++, …),
• ideally, practical experience in PyTorch, JAX, or Sci-Kit Learn,
• a high degree of self-organization,
• good German and English language skills,
• active support of our teaching activities,
• good communication and teamwork skills.
