Draughtsman - SolidWorks CAD

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Create and update detailed 2D and 3D drawings using SolidWorks
• Interpret engineering designs and convert them into accurate technical drawings
• Prepare drawings for manufacturing and fabrication
• Assist with design modifications and revisions
• Ensure drawings comply with company and industry standards
• Work closely with engineers, estimators, and workshop teams
• Maintain proper documentation and drawing records
• Assist with material take-offs where required

Minimum Requirements

• Relevant qualification in Draughting / Mechanical Engineering (or similar)
• 3–5 years’ experience in a draughting role (Junior to Intermediate level)
• Proficient in SolidWorks CAD software
• Good understanding of manufacturing and fabrication processes
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Advantageous Skills

• Experience with nesting software (e.g. sheet metal, CNC cutting)
• Knowledge of laser cutting, bending, or fabrication processes
• Exposure to BOMs (Bill of Materials) and costing support
• Experience working in an engineering or manufacturing environment
