About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Gather, analyze, and document business requirements for Commercial and Specialty Lines insurance products.
- Work with Underwriting, Product, Claims, and Operations teams to understand business processes and translate them into functional specifications.
- Prepare Business Requirement Documents (BRD), Functional Specifications, and User Stories.
- Facilitate workshops, requirement gathering sessions, and stakeholder meetings.
- Support configuration and enhancement of Policy Administration Systems (PAS).
- Perform gap analysis between current systems/processes and business needs.
- Assist QA teams in test case creation, UAT support, and validation.
- Ensure regulatory and compliance requirements are captured in system changes.
- Support data mapping, integrations, and API requirements with downstream systems.
- Track requirements through the SDLC lifecycle and ensure alignment with project objectives.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years experience as a Business Analyst in the Insurance domain.
- Strong knowledge of Commercial Lines or Specialty Lines products, such as:
- General Liability
- Commercial Property
- Professional Liability
- Workers Compensation
- Umbrella / Excess
- Experience working with Policy Administration Systems (PAS).
- Strong knowledge of policy lifecycle:
- Submission
- Quote
- Bind
- Policy issuance
- Endorsements
- Renewals
- Cancellations
- Experience with Agile / Scrum delivery models.
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and vendors.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with platforms like:
- Duck Creek
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of Commercial Lines or Specialty Lines products, such as: General Liability, Commercial Property, Professional Liability, Workers Compensation, Umbrella / Excess.
- Experience working with Policy Administration Systems (PAS).
- Strong knowledge of policy lifecycle: Submission, Quote, Bind, Policy issuance, Endorsements, Renewals, Cancellations.
- Experience with Agile / Scrum delivery models.
