About the role

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather, analyze, and document business requirements for Commercial and Specialty Lines insurance products.
  • Work with Underwriting, Product, Claims, and Operations teams to understand business processes and translate them into functional specifications.
  • Prepare Business Requirement Documents (BRD), Functional Specifications, and User Stories.
  • Facilitate workshops, requirement gathering sessions, and stakeholder meetings.
  • Support configuration and enhancement of Policy Administration Systems (PAS).
  • Perform gap analysis between current systems/processes and business needs.
  • Assist QA teams in test case creation, UAT support, and validation.
  • Ensure regulatory and compliance requirements are captured in system changes.
  • Support data mapping, integrations, and API requirements with downstream systems.
  • Track requirements through the SDLC lifecycle and ensure alignment with project objectives.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years experience as a Business Analyst in the Insurance domain.
  • Strong knowledge of Commercial Lines or Specialty Lines products, such as:
    • General Liability
    • Commercial Property
    • Professional Liability
    • Workers Compensation
    • Umbrella / Excess
  • Experience working with Policy Administration Systems (PAS).
  • Strong knowledge of policy lifecycle:
    • Submission
    • Quote
    • Bind
    • Policy issuance
    • Endorsements
    • Renewals
    • Cancellations
  • Experience with Agile / Scrum delivery models.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and vendors.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with platforms like:
    • Duck Creek
