Role Overview
As E‑Commerce & Marketplace Growth Manager at Feelgoodz, this role owns the commercial performance, operational execution, and strategic expansion of the brand across DTC and third‑party marketplaces. The position sits at the intersection of revenue growth, performance marketing, inventory planning, and marketplace operations, with accountability for turning brand values (craftsmanship, comfort, sustainability) into profitable, scalable outcomes.
Core Responsibilities
1. E‑Commerce (DTC) Ownership
- Own Shopify performance and roadmap, including merchandising, PDP optimization, collection structure, pricing, bundles, promotions, and conversion rate optimization.
- Partner with developers and agencies to manage site infrastructure, migrations, theme updates, and technical improvements (including headless architecture transitions).
- Define and manage shipping thresholds, discounts, and promotional mechanics to balance conversion, AOV, and contribution margin.
- Ensure site experience aligns with brand positioning while supporting performance and operational needs.
2. Marketplace Strategy & Management
- Own strategy, performance, and expansion across marketplaces including Amazon (via partner), Macy’s, Kohl’s, Nordstrom, and Target Plus.
- Lead onboarding, catalog expansion, SKU compliance, pricing consistency, and content optimization for each marketplace.
- Manage and coach external marketplace partners (Amazon), acting as a strategic advisor to improve sell-through, traffic, and reorder volume.
- Identify and pursue new marketplace opportunities, including recurring evaluation of platforms such as Mirakl‑powered marketplaces and Walmart.
3. Performance Marketing Oversight
- Own paid media strategy across Meta and Google, including campaign structure, funnel design, creative angles, budget allocation, and performance evaluation.
- Define break‑even ROAS/CPA targets based on margin, shipping, fees, and discounting.
- Evaluate performance, pixel health, and reporting to improve decision‑making and confidence in spend.
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders on creative direction when needed, while ensuring ads align with brand voice and profitability goals.
4. Revenue, Margin & Financial
- Build and maintain inventory expectation reports covering contribution margin, break‑even pricing, discount ladders, and partner profitability (amazon).
- Evaluate promotional strategies (BOGO, rebates (joe), bundles, markdown phases) with clear net profit, inventory turn, and cash‑flow implications.
- Analyze channel‑level performance against historical benchmarks and forecast targets.
- Support leadership with clear, data‑backed recommendations tied to revenue growth and margin protection.
5. Inventory Planning & Forecasting
- Assume ownership of inventory planning and forecasting
- Build sales forecasts informed by historical velocity, seasonality, on‑hand inventory, and channel demand.
- Align promotional and marketplace strategies with inventory realities to improve turns and reduce overstock.
6. Product Merchandising & Launch Support
- Partner with product and brand teams to support launches (e.g., new flip‑flop lines, slippers, seasonal products).
- Translate product stories, materials, and artisan partnerships into compelling merchandising, PDP content, and launch narratives.
- Develop bundling strategies and product mixes that support AOV growth.
7. Email & SMS (Retention) Strategy
- Oversee retention marketing strategy via Klaviyo, including campaign planning/flow, segmentation, and promotional alignment.
- Use email and SMS to support launches, promotions, inventory movement, and customer reactivation.
- Ensure messaging is consistent with brand tone while supporting revenue and margin goals.
8. Cross‑Functional Leadership & Process Improvement
- Act as a connective tissue between marketing, operations, product, finance, and external partners.
- Manage tasks in for relevant campaigns / tasks, etc.
Key Outcomes & Impact
- Scale revenue across DTC and multiple marketplaces while maintaining margin discipline.
- Successfully stand up and expand major retail marketplaces, increasing distribution and forecasted revenue.
- Improve promotional and pricing decisions.
- Increase operational ownership and accountability across inventory, Amazon partnership management, and site performance.
- Help evolve Feelgoodz from a primarily DTC brand into a multi‑channel, marketplace‑enabled business.
Skills & Expertise
- Deep experience in e‑commerce and marketplace operations
- Strong financial and analytical skills (margin modeling, forecasting, break‑even analysis)
- Performance marketing strategy across Meta, Google, Amazon
- Shopify expertise, including merchandising and CRO
- Marketplace platform knowledge (Amazon, Macy’s, Kohl’s, Nordstrom, Target Plus, RCC)
- Strong written communication and brand‑aligned copy instincts
- Ability to balance brand values with commercial outcomes
