We are seeking a highly motivated Aircraft Electronic Software and Hardware Engineering Specialist to join our Electronic Equipment Design Assurance (EEDA) team at our facility in Mirabel, Quebec, Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in preliminary and critical system design reviews.
  • Prepare or contribute to program software and electronic hardware certification plans.
  • Evaluate supplier's software and electronic (FPGA, ASIC, PLD) designs.
  • Conduct technical and process audits.
  • Perform safety of flight reviews.
  • Assess software and electronic hardware life cycle data to ensure compliance to standards.
  • Lead the resolution of safety, compliance, or technical deficiencies with suppliers and other program stakeholders.
  • Prepare and/or review design compliance reports.
  • Contribute to the evolution of EEDA best practices.

Qualifications

  • University engineering degree in Avionics, Electronics, Software, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 8 years of technical engineering experience, including at least 5 years in aeronautics.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in airborne software and electronic hardware.
  • Working knowledge of airborne software and electronic hardware guidance and Means of Compliance, including ARP-4754A/B, RTCA DO-178B, DO-178C and supplements, DO-248B/C, DO-254, DO-297 (IMA), DO-326A/DO-356A/DO-355 (Cuber security), DO-330, DO-200A, FAA AC 20-115D, AC 20-152A, Order 8110.49A, and 8110.105A.
  • Functional knowledge of English is required.
  • Multiple programming languages (C, C++, Ada95, Assembly, Python, etc.) and multiple hardware description languages.
  • Development and testing (FPGA, ASIC, or PLD).
  • Knowledge of requirements capture environments (DOORS, JAMA, etc.).
  • Understanding of embedded computer architectures, operating systems, and real-time executives.
  • Eligible for a P. Eng. or equivalent.
  • Ambitious, results-driven, and able to work autonomously with little supervision.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, a team player, self-motivated, customer-focused, and able to work under pressure.
  • Proactive, adaptable, flexible, and innovative with a strong sense of accountability and integrity.
  • Experience with airworthiness authorities or their authorized engineers is an asset.
