About the role

Role Purpose

As an Electronic or Industrial Data Engineer, you will play a key role in developing and implementing a data-centric strategy for a new underground mining project commencing at the end of 2025. This initial assignment may extend over 2–3 years. The role involves supporting hardware instrumentation, setting up communication systems and IT infrastructure, and monitoring real-time data collection both onsite and remotely. You will work closely with mining, engineering, and operational teams.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (recent graduates are welcome to apply; 3–5 years’ experience will be advantageous)
  • Proficiency in data modeling and data warehousing
  • Experience in data analytics
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Previous experience in the mining sector will be advantageous

Key Responsibilities

  • Data processing, dashboard development, and advanced analytics, with exposure to large language models and digital solutions to support operational and management decision-making.
  • You will also contribute to business optimization initiatives.
  • The position offers exposure to specialized software (Aveva, Connect, Historian), industry conferences, and collaboration with internal engineering teams, digital subsidiaries, and external consultants.
