Role Overview

The Embedded Engineer will be part of the Technical Operations team supporting a precision irrigation product line. This position involves both maintaining existing products in the field and contributing to the development of new solutions.

The role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, customer support, and supply chain to ensure successful product performance and production continuity. Responsibilities span both hardware and firmware design and support.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and maintain electronic circuits and systems using both analog and digital techniques
• Integrate sensors with microcontrollers and microprocessors
• Develop and maintain embedded software using C/C++ and work within RTOS environments
• Work with common communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, UART, and CAN
• Support printed circuit board design (experience with tools such as OrCAD is beneficial)
• Contribute expertise across a range of microcontroller platforms
• Develop and support applications involving various sensor types (e.g., inductive, current, resistive, magnetic, acoustic, ultrasonic, and motion-based sensors)
• Work with actuator systems such as solenoids
• Apply knowledge of power systems, including AC/DC conversion
• Support wireless technologies including cellular (4G/5G), IoT connectivity, and short-range communication protocols
• Contribute to security features including encryption and data protection methods
• Explore and evaluate emerging technologies, including data-driven approaches and AI applications
• Gather and analyze technical data from documentation, testing, equipment operation, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
• Provide technical guidance and subject matter expertise within the team

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline
• Experience requirements based on level:
  • Mid-level: 2–4 years
  • Senior-level: 5–7 years
  • Principal-level: 7+ years
• Willingness to expand programming skills, including languages such as Python and C
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment

Compensation and Benefits

Salary ranges are determined based on experience, skills, and other factors, with an estimated range of approximately $82,900 to $120,000 annually.
