Responsibilities

  • Define and design embedded software components for computed tomography systems.
  • Provide technical support and further develop new and existing software components in an agile and international environment.
  • Estimate development effort based on functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Support architecture definition considering deadlines, costs, and dependencies.
  • Create, maintain, and own technical software documentation including test specifications and concepts.
  • Implement, refactor, and verify embedded software components.
  • Support integration and testing at subsystem and system levels.
  • Assist manufacturing with expertise and contribute to analysis and resolution of software-related issues.
  • Continuously monitor and improve software quality within the installed base.
  • Actively contribute to the development of the international agile development team.

Qualifications

  • Successfully completed master's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a comparable technical field.
  • Several years of professional experience in embedded systems software development.
  • Solid experience in architectural design of embedded software components.
  • Proficient programming in real-time context with hardware-near interfaces.
  • Practical experience with interfaces/fieldbuses such as CAN/CANopen, SPI, I²C, UART, and Ethernet/TCP-IP.
  • Familiarity with object-oriented software development and programming techniques like C++, OOA, OOD, and UML.
  • Knowledge and practical experience with Embedded Linux operating system.

  • Fluent German and English skills for technical communication in national and international development and manufacturing environments.
  • Initiative, result orientation, and strong learning ability to continuously improve software components.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate across departments and explain complex technical challenges and solutions clearly.

Work Model

  • Flexible work location with up to 60% mobile work within Germany in agreement with management.
  • Mobile work from abroad possible under certain conditions for up to 30 days per year in selected countries.
