About the Role
As an Embedded Software Engineer, you will innovate in the realm of avionics, power electronics, and battery systems, with a specific focus on AHRS and INS products, using cutting-edge sensor technologies. You’ll have the opportunity to generate unique intellectual property to meet the rising demand for software-defined behavior, while working on a diverse array of products, including cockpit displays, instruments, and navigational solutions that utilize both local and remote sensor data. Your responsibilities will also encompass data conversion, storage management, lithium battery management, AC and DC power conversion, and in-seat power solutions.
This Role Could Be Your Perfect Fit If...
- You hold a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering or a related field.
- You have at least 10 years of experience in embedded software design.
- You possess a minimum of 5 years as a principal designer for AHRS and INS solutions.
- You have 5 years of expertise in characterizing and calibrating inertial sensor devices.
- You can work directly with target hardware, utilizing lab bench equipment and tools for debugging and analysis.
- You are proficient in programming with C.
- You have a good command of Microsoft Office.
- You exhibit strong attention to detail.
- You are organized, focused, and driven by results.
- You are adept at problem-solving, critical thinking, and prioritization.
- You possess excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
We Would Be Impressed If You Also Have...
- Experience with C#, C++, or Python for PC application software.
- Experience in VHDL.
- Experience developing safety-critical software following standards like RTCA DO-178 or DO-254.
- Knowledge in designing or troubleshooting PCB system hardware.
- Experience with Design for Manufacture and Design for Test (DFM & DFT).
A Typical Day in This Role May Include...
- Creating and implementing embedded C software for bare-metal microcontroller systems, alongside VHDL firmware for FPGA systems.
- Architecting and deploying AHRS and INS products leveraging MEMS, FOG, or other commercially available technologies.
- Designing tools for the manufacturing, calibration, and validation of safety-critical products.
- Building and troubleshooting hardware, applying basic soldering skills, and using test equipment in both office and lab settings.
- Prototyping and executing test programs to ensure compliance with performance, regulatory, and quality standards.
