Embedded Software Engineer

Akkodis is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer for a Contract with a client in Allen Park, MI. The ideal candidate will collaborate with a high‑performing embedded software team to design, develop, debug, and refactor Body Control System software components, delivering high‑quality, on‑time device driver code for automotive ECUs.

Rate Range: $42/hour to $45/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a team of embedded software engineers to design, develop, and maintain Body Control System software components.
• Analyze feature‑level requirements and translate them into functional specifications, implementing solutions in Embedded C, Python, and MATLAB/Simulink.
• Develop, debug, and optimize complex device driver code to ensure high quality, performance, and on‑time product delivery.
• Scale, modify, and refactor existing software to align with new architectures and evolving system requirements.
• Perform code‑level integration activities, including build replication, source‑level debugging, and deployment streamlining.
• Partner with architecture, validation, and project teams to support reusable software components, CI/CD pipelines, and ECU release processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience in embedded software development, preferably in automotive systems.
• Strong proficiency in Embedded C with the ability to write portable, platform‑agnostic code; experience with MATLAB/Simulink and Stateflow is highly desirable.
• Prior experience developing Body Control System (BCS) software or Proof‑of‑Concept applications for automotive ECUs, with exposure to Agile development and CI/CD environments.
