As an enthusiastic Embedded Software Developer (m/f/d), you will work as part of our international agile team on products for firefighters' personal protective equipment. With your passion for technology for life, you will make an important contribution to safety in the field.
Responsibilities
- Within product development, you will develop embedded software for our products in the areas of respiratory protection, communication systems, and thermal imaging cameras as part of new and further development.
- Your tasks will include implementing software as well as requirements analysis, software design, testing, and documentation.
- You will coordinate closely with adjacent disciplines such as electronics development, system engineering, or validation.
- In internal communities and initiatives, you will work with your colleagues on the continuous improvement of the development department. This includes, for example, the selection of innovative technologies and methods.
Requirements
- CleanCode and Software Craftsmanship are not foreign words to you. You have sound knowledge in software development with C and especially C++.
- You are open to the use of AI-supported development methods and ideally have initial experience or great interest in AI-assisted programming and code analysis.
- At the same time, you have a good understanding of the interplay between embedded software and hardware and are confident in using tools such as logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and soldering irons.
- You have a degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or comparable fields and preferably already have several years of professional experience in the development of embedded software.
- Agility is the culture with which you approach complex problems.
- Good English and German language skills and the willingness to take responsibility characterize you. Strong communication skills, enthusiasm, and team spirit complete your profile.

About Us
Around 5,300 people work for Dräger in Lübeck. In addition to offices and laboratories, the Revalstraße site includes a state-of-the-art plant with integrated production and logistics processes. There is a direct motorway connection (5 min.) to the A20. The historic city center and the train station are about 15 minutes away, the Baltic Sea only 20 minutes, and the center of Hamburg about 1 hour.

Salary: EUR 45000 - 65000 per year
Requirements
- Sie besitzen fundierte Kenntnisse in der Softwareentwicklung mit C und insbesondere C++.
- Sie sind offen für den Einsatz KI-gestützter Entwicklungsmethoden und bringen idealerweise erste Erfahrung oder großes Interesse an KI-unterstützter Programmierung und Code-Analyse mit.
- Gleichzeitig verfügen sie über ein gutes Verständnis des Zusammenspiels von Embedded Software und Hardware und sind sicher im Umgang mit Werkzeugen wie Logic Analyzer, Oszilloskop und Lötkolben.

Responsibilities
- Im Rahmen der Produktentwicklung entwickeln Sie Embedded Software für unsere Produkte aus den Bereichen Atemschutz, Kommunikationssystemen und Wärmebildkameras im Rahmen der Neu- und Weiterentwicklung.
- Zu Ihren Aufgaben gehören neben dem Implementieren von Software auch Anforderungsanalyse, Software Design, Testen und Dokumentation.
- Dabei stimmen sich eng mit benachbarten Disziplinen wie Elektronikentwicklung, Systemengineering oder Validierung ab.
- In internen Communities und Initiativen arbeiten Sie mit Ihren Kollegen an der stetigen Verbesserung der Entwicklungsabteilung.
- Dazu gehört z.B. die Auswahl innovativer Technologien und Methoden.
