Position Overview: As an Embedded Software Developer, you will play a vital role in designing, developing, and automating firmware verification processes for battery-operated IoT devices used in critical cardiac monitoring. You will collaborate closely with firmware, hardware, and system engineers to ensure the highest quality and reliability of our medical devices.
Key Responsibilities: • Develop and automate firmware verification tests to validate device functionality and performance. • Collaborate with firmware developers to investigate issues, troubleshoot firmware and electrical problems, and implement effective solutions. • Support the development and maintenance of test automation frameworks primarily using Python, with opportunities to utilize C++, MATLAB, or JavaScript as needed. • Design, build, and deploy scalable and efficient test automation solutions for embedded devices and internal tools. • Work with electronic test equipment such as power supplies, DMMs, oscilloscopes, and troubleshoot electrical and firmware-related issues. • Understand low-level embedded communication protocols including UART, SPI, I2C, and USB. • Review hardware datasheets, schematics, and state-machine diagrams to facilitate testing and troubleshooting. • Define and execute verification and validation plans, ensuring compliance with industry standards for medical device development.
Qualifications: • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field. • Experience in Python development; familiarity with C++, MATLAB, or JavaScript is a plus. • Hands-on experience with electronic test equipment and troubleshooting embedded systems. • Proficiency with serial communication protocols such as UART, SPI, I2C, and USB. • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, both verbal and written. • Ability to interpret hardware schematics, datasheets, and state-machine diagrams.
