About the role

About Schiebel

The Schiebel Group is a globally active high-tech company and a market leader in the field of unmanned helicopters (CAMCOPTER(R) S-100 and S-300) and mine detection equipment. With us, it's not just about technology - it's about visions that take off!

Our mission is to develop technologies that function reliably in extreme situations - autonomously, safely, precisely.

Our embedded software forms the intelligent core of the CAMCOPTER(R) platform. Among other things, your code decides whether a system flies, lands, or remains stable in the air. We believe: Good embedded software gets the CAMCOPTER(R) into the air, saves resources, and expands what is technically possible.

How We Work

With a flexible setup, a clear vision, and a true engineering spirit. You are part of the new generation of the Embedded Team. Whether it's a mini-controller for sensor technology or complex real-time flight control: You are in the middle of it, not just at the interface. We develop well-thought-out system and software architectures, write clean unit tests, clear specifications, and work hand in hand with our test teams. State-of-the-art tools, DO-178C certification, and continuous integration are your daily toolset.

For us, leadership means not giving instructions, but providing direction and taking the team along, both professionally and personally.

What Awaits You Specifically

  • UAV Impact: You will further develop the CAMCOPTER(R) S-100 within the established Embedded Team and simultaneously shape the next generations of helicopters - where innovation truly takes off.
  • C-Crafting: You will design software in C that not only runs but performs reliably in critical missions.
  • Realtime-Precision: You will work on real-time operating systems where every millisecond counts and your code directly influences flight behavior.
  • Architecture-Shaping: You will contribute your ideas to architectural decisions and help lay robust, future-proof software foundations.
  • Testing: You will test at all levels - unit, integration, system - thereby ensuring the quality that a UAV needs in the air.
  • Team Spirit: Work in a motivated team with a genuine passion for technology.

Your code flies. Literally.

What You Bring With You

  • In-depth experience in Embedded Software Design & C programming
  • DO-178C know-how (or the interest to professionally familiarize yourself with it)
  • Modern SW development processes are your home
  • Experience with test automation, scripting, CI/CD, Jenkins, ... are advantageous
  • Team spirit for our diverse collaboration
  • Proactive communication and hands-on mentality

What You Can Expect From Us

  • Impact: You will work on a high-tech product that makes real missions possible in the field.
  • Tech-Driven Culture: An environment where technology is valued and further developed.
  • Benefits: Meal allowance, sports activities, bike leasing, and shared experiences that strengthen trust and collaboration.
  • Flexible Working Hours: for more focus, more balance, and a workday that truly suits you.
  • Office-first, Home-Office included: You can work focused from home on one fixed day per week, while the rest of the week is reserved for direct interaction with the team.
  • Diversity is our standard: We promote talent, not stereotypes. Therefore, we welcome applications from all people - regardless of gender, origin, or age.

The annual gross salary is based on the current collective agreement for the metal industry for employees, with a willingness to overpay depending on experience and qualifications.
