Embedded Software Developer

Your role in the team

• You develop embedded software with real impact: our control units ensure that food, pharmaceuticals, and other sensitive goods are transported reliably, efficiently, and sustainably worldwide.
• Project planning of security-relevant embedded software tasks including scheduling, timeline management, and status updates.
• Responsibility for own work packages in interdisciplinary development projects.
• Development of secure embedded software in C++.
• Implementation of core security mechanisms (Secure Boot, Secure Update, Authentication, Cryptography, Key Management).
• Ensuring compliance with modern security standards as well as quality assurance and validation within the overall system.
• Participation in the Secure SDLC, Threat Modeling, and the further development of the security architecture.
• Conducting security tests.
• Analysis and assessment of vulnerabilities as well as processing through the ticket system.
• Creation of relevant security, architecture, and project documents.
• Active further development of development standards and security processes.

Qualifications

• Very good, demonstrably professional C++ skills in embedded systems.
• Proficient in version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Very good knowledge of German and English.
• Good communication skills in interdisciplinary teams and persuasiveness.

• Teamwork skills.
• Knowledge of UNECE R155, Cyber Resilience Act (CRA), and ISO21434, as well as expertise in vehicle network management (CAN, LIN, Ethernet).

Experience

• Extensive professional experience in embedded development.
• Experience with HSMs, secure coding, vulnerability management.
• Experience with automotive processes as well as agile, iterative development in interdisciplinary teams.
• Experience with diagnostic and communication protocols such as UDS, DoIP, and in the field of modern software development (e.g., Clean / Modern C++, TDD, CI/CD, AI-Assisted Coding).
• Experience with automotive processes as well as agile, iterative development in interdisciplinary teams, especially in the IoT environment, particularly with Bluetooth, WiFi, mobile communications (e.g., LTE/5G), and GPS/GNSS.

Education

• Completed degree in Computer Science, Embedded Systems, IT Security, or a comparable qualification.
