Secmation is looking for a talented Senior Engineer with a strong background in RF systems, military communications, and software‑defined radios (SDR) to develop cutting‑edge embedded software for next‑generation defense systems. In this pivotal role, you will work at the intersection of RF communications, signal processing, and embedded cybersecurity, contributing to mission‑critical technologies.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and enhance embedded software for sophisticated RF and communications systems, with a focus on SDR platforms.
- Lead the development and integration of signal processing algorithms, communication waveforms, and security features to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (RF, hardware, systems, integration, and testing) to define software requirements and support resilient system architectures.
- Conduct hardware‑in‑the‑loop (HWIL) testing, mission simulations, and field validation to troubleshoot complex system issues and enhance overall system performance.
- Provide technical leadership within project teams, including conducting design reviews, mentoring junior engineers, and engaging in customer‑facing technical discussions.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. citizen with an active DoD TS Clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 7+ years of progressive experience in embedded software development for RF, communications, or signal‑processing systems.
- Proficiency in developing software within Linux‑based embedded environments.
- Extensive knowledge of communication systems, RF, and SDR frameworks, including GNU Radio, REDHAWK, or similar platforms.
- Experience in modeling and simulating radio equipment, with a focus on performance analysis and optimization.
- Strong understanding of digital signal processing concepts, such as modulation, error correction, adaptive techniques, and waveform optimization.
- Hands‑on experience in Agile/DevOps environments, using tools like Git, Jira, and CI/CD pipelines.

- Hybrid role with on‑site work required in Huntsville, AL.
- Flexible 9/80 work schedule, allowing every other Friday off.
