About the Opportunity

WOLF Advanced Technology is looking for a full‑time Engineer, Hardware Design Verification based in Aurora, Ontario. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Design Verification Engineering, you will develop and execute verification strategies that ensure WOLF’s embedded hardware systems meet functional, performance, and reliability requirements across the product development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute verification plans aligned with product specifications and requirements.
  • Design and run test cases while maintaining verification coverage and regression testing processes.
  • Bring up prototypes and conduct electrical characterization, environmental qualification, and system‑level testing.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and functional issues to refine verification workflows.
  • Collaborate with design, systems, and validation teams to define verification strategies and coverage goals.
  • Document verification procedures, results, and reports to maintain traceability and compliance.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support verification best practices across the team.
  • Contribute to test automation initiatives and continuous improvement across the engineering development process.

About You (Requirements)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of hands‑on hardware design verification and debugging experience with FPGA, MPSoC, or GPU‑based embedded systems.
  • Strong proficiency with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and digital multimeters (DMMs).
  • Ability to interpret hardware schematics.

Highly valued skills and background:

  • Experience performing hardware bring‑up and validation from schematic review through system‑level integration, including debugging complex embedded systems.
  • Experience with high‑speed video interfaces (e.g., SMPTE 3G‑SDI, 12G‑SDI, DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI, DVI).
  • Familiarity with serial communication protocols (UART, SPI, I²C) in embedded hardware environments.
  • Strong understanding of schematic reviews, PCB layout constraints, and hardware debugging using schematics and layout tools (Cadence experience is a plus).
  • Knowledge of power measurement, thermal testing, and signal‑integrity considerations in high‑performance embedded systems.
  • Experience with environmental and reliability standards (e.g., MIL‑STD‑810, environmental cycling chambers).
  • Understanding of hardware‑software interaction, including firmware‑assisted diagnostics and low‑level driver validation within embedded platforms.
  • Excellent analytical thinking, problem‑solving abilities, attention to detail, and technical communication skills.
  • Demonstrated collaboration, initiative, and curiosity in a fast‑paced engineering team.

Wolfpack Perks (Benefits)

  • Top‑Tier Compensation: $115,000+ CAD (negotiable based on expertise).
  • Wellness & Coverage: Health Care Spending Account, short‑ and long‑term disability plans, and a monthly Wellness Allowance.
  • Generous Time Off: Three weeks’ paid vacation plus an additional week of company‑wide holiday shutdown.
  • Flexible Work Model: Balance in‑office collaboration with time at home.
  • Profit Sharing: Participation after one year of service.
  • Relocation Support: Assistance available for the right candidate.
  • Professional Development: Budget for training, conferences, and memberships.
