Engineer, HVAC Building Services (from three to eight years of experience)

Your future role on our team

You will participate in engineering, select technology and execute mechanical and multidisciplinary projects in the mining, energy and heavy industry sectors. You’ll be part of our team specialized in thermal systems and industrial building services. You’ll work with experts and be exposed to a wide range of situations to develop your technical skills in pumping, energy recovery, ventilation, heating, air conditioning, plumbing and piping, fire protection, compressed air, dust collection, generators and their fuel for various industrial applications. You’ll use your leadership skills daily, whether developing trusting relationships with partners, training the next generation or working with a passionate team.

Responsibilities

• Design systems for building services (HVAC, power systems: cooling and heating loops, heat recovery systems) and approve associated engineering documents
• Work with the team on innovation projects involving decarbonization and energy recovery in the industrial sector
• Develop trusting and quality business relationships
• Help prepare proposals
• Manage the technical portions of projects (design reviews, costs, schedules)
• Prepare, draft and produce study reports
• Assist less experienced staff with technical aspects of more complex tasks
• Coordinate the work of drafters or other team members

Qualifications and requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a mechanical engineering or building services program
• Three to eight years of relevant experience in building services (HVAC), heat recovery, thermal power systems, cooling systems
• Excellent knowledge of the MS Office Suite
• Advanced English skills for collaboration in English-speaking provinces and internationally
• Advanced French skills for collaboration in Québec
• Ability to draft technical documents in both English and French
• Asset: relevant experience in the industrial sector
