About the role

As an Engineer in Cryptography and Embedded Security, within the R&D team, you will be a key point of reference for cryptography‑related aspects. You will design high‑security cryptographic algorithms for embedded systems. You will analyze and validate the developed algorithms to ensure a high level of security for our embedded solutions. You will work on state‑of‑the‑art technologies and the latest generations of cryptographic primitives.

Main responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development and proper integration of symmetric and asymmetric cryptographic algorithms into embedded systems, according to customer requirements
  • Validate the implemented algorithms and ensure their correct usage by defining and executing test plans; proactively improve testing methodologies
  • Work within the security team to align algorithm security levels with product security needs
  • Document best practices and provide security recommendations
  • Conduct technology watch activities and may file patents for innovative solutions and publish in scientific conferences
  • Support teams in developing their expertise
  • Assist multiple projects in implementing security requirements

About you

Education

  • Master’s degree (Bac+5) or equivalent in Mathematics, Cryptography, Computer Science, or Embedded Electronics (PhD is a plus)

Experience

  • Proven experience in embedded cryptographic development

Language

  • Proficiency in English

Technical competencies

  • Knowledge of physical attacks, such as:
    • Side‑channel attacks (power, EM, timing)
    • Fault injection attacks (laser, EM)
  • Understanding of defensive countermeasures at software and/or hardware level
  • Experience with smart cards or similar technologies (e.g., Hardware Security Modules – HSM)
  • Background in vulnerability research, reverse engineering, or binary analysis
  • Knowledge of basic communication standards such as ISO7816, ISO14443
  • Knowledge of post‑quantum cryptography
  • Strong programming skills in C/C++ (Assembly language experience is a plus)
