Maintenance & Engineering Manager

We are recruiting a degreed & experienced Maintenance & Engineering Manager to lead maintenance, reliability, and engineering for a high‑speed, 24/7 paper manufacturing operation.

You’ll drive safe, efficient performance of paper machines, finishing systems, and critical utilities while developing a skilled technical team and pushing continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

As the Maintenance & Engineering Manager, your focus will be:

• Champion safety and enforce LOTO, confined space, hot work, and contractor programs
• Lead maintenance and reliability for paper machines and supporting systems
• Maximize uptime through preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance
• Use CMMS to plan and prioritize work aligned with production
• Guide mechanics, electricians, and technicians through training and development
• Lead outages, shutdowns, and capital projects
• Provide mechanical, electrical, and automation technical leadership
• Control budgets and manage critical spare parts strategy
• Oversee vendors, OEMs, and contractors for quality and compliance.

Requirements

Minimum requirements for this Maintenance & Engineering Manager’s position:

• BS Mechanical Engineering preferred
• Minimum of 8 years in paper industry
• Leadership experience in a unionized setting
• Strong knowledge of paper machine systems and reliability practices
• Experience with CMMS, PLC/DCS systems, and Lean tools.
