About
You are a dynamic Engineering Coordinator with a background in Engineering. In this role, you will support OSP Design & Engineering activities through accurate cost estimation, materials planning, and detailed design review. You will be responsible for interpreting and validating engineering drawings, performing bill of quantity take offs, and providing technical support to Design & Construction teams throughout project execution. This is a 12‑month fixed‑term position with potential for long‑term employment. The role is fully remote and the offer is available from Canada.
Essential Responsibilities
- Provide support in the review of OSP engineering designs and drawings to ensure compliance with design standards, specifications, and constructability requirements during the design lifecycle
- Provide continuous technical support to Design & Construction teams, including updating design drawings to reflect as‑built conditions
- Extract and interpret basic project information from client, vendor, and internal design documents to support operational workflows
- Prepare and submit supporting design documentation, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with client and project requirements
- Perform pre‑cost estimates for OSP projects to support budgeting and project approval
- Forecast material requirements and perform bill‑of‑quantity take‑offs to ensure timely procurement and inventory readiness
- Coordinate with Materials Management to align project needs with supply availability
- Request, track, and consolidate OSP project area mark‑ups and provide them to the Design team for review and integration into finalized design drawings
- Work closely with Engineering and Operations staff to support continuous improvements of design standards, templates, workflows and construction practices
Qualifications
- 1+ years related work experience or combination of relevant education and experience in telecommunications
- Knowledge of fiber optics, controls and automation
- Strong computer background including experience with MS Office, AutoCAD and any related estimating software
- Familiarity with construction documents and the ability to assist with construction document review
- Proven understanding of quality processes and the development of quality standards
- Strong communication and team collaboration skills

Compensation
- Base pay range: $51,200.00 – $70,400.00 (determined based on experience, knowledge, skills, education, and location)
