Engineering Lead

What you will be doing:

• Lead technical engagements with client stakeholders, acting as the primary interface between business and engineering teams
• Ensure architectural governance and technical standards are consistently applied across delivery teams
• Guide and oversee delivery across pods (±15 team members including developers and BAs)
• Translate business requirements into high-level and low-level technical designs
• Drive alignment between onshore and offshore (India-based) development teams
• Provide technical direction and mentorship to engineering teams
• Oversee delivery within fixed scope and tight governance frameworks
• Contribute to architecture definition, solution design, and implementation planning
• Ensure quality, scalability, and performance of solutions
• Collaborate closely with platform leads and senior stakeholders to manage risks and dependencies
• Support the rollout of a large-scale mobile banking application (iOS, Android, Huawei/Harmony OS)
• Contribute to documentation including architecture, design, and technical standards

What we are looking for:

• Relevant qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• 8+ years’ experience in software engineering, with experience in a technical leadership role
• Strong experience in solution architecture, system design, and technical governance
• Proven experience leading engineering teams and managing delivery in complex environments
• Ability to engage with senior stakeholders and lead deep technical discussions
• Experience working in large-scale, enterprise delivery environments
• Understanding of Agile delivery and distributed team models
• Experience with backend technologies (Java, Spring Boot, Reactive frameworks)
• Exposure to event-driven architecture (Kafka)
• Understanding of API and integration layers (experience layer / proxy services)
• Basic understanding of mobile development (iOS/Android – Swift/Kotlin)
• Exposure to cloud-native and scalable architectures

Advantageous:

• Strong mobile development experience (iOS, Android, Huawei / Harmony OS)
• Experience in banking or financial services
• Experience working in global delivery models with offshore teams
• Exposure to GenAI or modern digital platform innovation
