About the Job
We are hiring a Deputy Technical Manager to step into an existing role in our Technical Office team on the Mobilinx project. This position reports to the Senior Technical Manager.
What You Will Be Doing?
- Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of interface management processes, systems integration frameworks, and project reporting tools across the program.
- Own and maintain core interface management deliverables, including the Interface Management Plan, Interface Control Documents (ICDs), and interface registers, ensuring consistency, completeness, and alignment across disciplines.
- Develop and manage program-level dashboards and KPI frameworks, providing clear visibility on project performance, risks, and trends to support executive decision-making.
- Translate complex project data into actionable insights and reporting for senior leadership, enabling proactive identification and mitigation of risks and issues.
- Lead the identification, management, and resolution of interface-related risks and issues across civil, systems, and third-party stakeholders, ensuring timely closure and minimal impact to program delivery.
- Establish and facilitate interface governance processes, including coordination forums and working groups, to ensure alignment across all project stakeholders.
- Act as a key integration point between disciplines, ensuring alignment of design, construction, and operational requirements across all project interfaces.
- Manage and oversee engineering design workflows related to interfaces and integration, including the review of design deliverables to ensure completeness, coordination, and compliance with project requirements.
- Develop and deliver training sessions and guidance materials to project teams on interface management processes, reporting tools, and document control systems to ensure consistent understanding and application.
- Drive adoption and compliance with established processes and procedures across all stakeholders, promoting best practices in interface management and systems integration.
- Support and enhance document control processes to ensure accuracy, traceability, and alignment with interface management and integration requirements.
- Coordinate and consolidate inputs from multidisciplinary teams to support integrated project delivery, ensuring alignment of priorities and efficient execution.
- Contribute to the continuous refinement and optimization of project processes, tools, and methodologies based on lessons learned and evolving project needs.
- Own and maintain the overall Project Progress Tracker which includes tracking and updating dates, monitoring project progress and flagging key design related issues.
- A high level of knowledge of multiple subject areas or disciplines in transportation sector; through understanding of business objectives, priorities and strategy for infrastructure projects; and understands industry best practices and competitors.
What We Are Looking For?
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, or related discipline).
- Minimum 8–10 years of relevant experience in large-scale infrastructure or transit projects, with demonstrated involvement in interface management, systems integration, or multidisciplinary coordination.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing processes, frameworks, and tools within complex project environments.
- Strong experience in project analytics, reporting, and dashboard development, including advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and/or Power BI.
- Demonstrated experience in interface management and coordination across multiple stakeholders, including designers, contractors, and third parties.
- Solid understanding of systems integration principles within large infrastructure or transit programs.
- Familiarity with rail transit industry standards, practices, and regulations as well as interface management standards and practices (e.g., ISO/IEEE 15288 or equivalent) is preferred.
- Experience with document control systems and processes, preferably within a construction or engineering project environment.
- Working knowledge of construction methodologies, design processes, and project delivery frameworks (e.g., Design-Build, Alliance, etc.).
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation across multiple disciplines.
- Experience working with cloud-based construction/project management platforms (e.g., Procore or similar) is preferred.
Expected Compensation
Successful candidates chosen for this position can expect to earn between $130,000.00CAD - $150,000.00CAD. The exact salary you will earn within this range is dependant on the specific project to which you are assigned.
