About the role
The ideal candidate possesses both a high level of technical expertise and an innate passion to build. You will play a critical role in creating and refining processes in order to improve manufacturing safety, quality, and productivity.
An Engineering Manager is responsible for overseeing a team of Engineers in the completion of engineering projects. Their duties include oversee and direct development and utilization of state-of-the-art industrial engineering processes to improve and sustain a profitable, efficient and safe automotive supply manufacturing production system and facility, set project budgets and timelines for completion and direct their staff run tests or troubleshoot issues with prototypes. The manager will lead the NVH ) Noise, vibration and harsh) engine, body acoustic, heat shield, cargo floor and sunshade components including hood, outer dash and underbody silencers, textile wheel liners and underbody shields , cargo load floors and sunshades, powertrain and exhaust heat shields.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Leading research and development projects that produce new designs, products, and processes.
- Designs, implements, and refines product development, testing, and manufacturing processes.
- Manages staff and assigns tasks to engineering and technical personnel and measure performance.
- Implement Lean Six sigma methodology instructing cross-functional teams in adapting to and understanding improvement processes, facilitating Kaizen and Rapid Improvement Events (RIEs), and overseeing process improvement projects.
- Leads teams in the development of new products, solutions, and processes.
- Plan and execute operational strategy to maximize output and reduce cost in accordance with corporate goals.
- Strong focus on achieving efficiency goals for each operating unit.
- Plan, organize and control all manufacturing, engineering, material and facility activities in accordance with corporate policies, procedures, goals and objectives as defined by Management.
- Perform Operational Reviews to monitor production costs, product quality and implement appropriate changes.
- Oversees project logistics, layout, installation and resource allocation.
- Strives to improve efficiency and sustainability of processes and product designs, and to reduce waste.
- Analyze and refine MRP or supporting systems and improve efficiency
- Secures the resources needed for teams to excel, including researching and proposing capital investments.
- Helps to create and oversee project budgets and engages in cost management strategies and CAPEX.
- Work on process improvement on our injection molding process
Qualifications/Training:
- Bachelor's degree in either Industrial or Mechanical Engineering
- 2 years of managerial experience or experience in a lead role.
- Analytical skills for evaluating information carefully and solving complex problems.
- Organizational skills for keeping track of various budgets, employees and schedules simultaneously.
- Expert-level knowledge of sector technology and processes
- Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, Kanban and 5S
