Engineering Manager - AI SaaS application

They have been using AI in their platform for over 7-8 years and you should be an individual who is extremely passionate about agentic AI. You will lead a transformation project which is rebuilding their application from scratch which will be a cutting-edge SaaS product.

The tech stack is Java, spring, AWS on the backend with the frontend built in typescript and react.

Role Overview

In this role is centered on leading an engineering team, with a primary focus on people, delivery, and strategic direction. You’ll oversee a team of six full-stack engineers and a principal engineer, ensuring they are supported, motivated, and set up to perform at a high level.

Around a third of your time will be spent on technical guidance working closely with the team to review system architecture, surface and prioritise technical debt, and guide efforts to modernise the platform with clear, outcome-driven goals.

Most of your time will be dedicated to leadership and execution. This includes coaching and developing engineers, fostering a strong team culture, and collaborating with product stakeholders to define the roadmap. You’ll also be responsible for ensuring work is well-scoped, accurately estimated, and delivered reliably.

Location

The role is ideally one day a week or a couple of times a month in there Virginia office, however they would consider fully remote.

Compensation

The salary is up to $230,000 base+ 10% bonus, 401k, healthcare etc.
