About the role
CBA Elevator Consultants is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Manager to lead our engineering team in an elevator consulting firm. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in elevator systems, a minimum of 8 years of engineering experience, experience in a supervisory role, and a proven track record in managing engineering projects. The Engineering Manager will be responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of elevator systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and providing technical expertise to clients and the engineering team. This role requires excellent leadership skills, technical proficiency, and the ability to drive innovation and efficiency within the engineering department.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the engineering team, providing guidance, mentorship, and technical expertise.
- Oversee the design and engineering processes for elevator systems, ensuring compliance with industry codes, regulations, and client specifications.
- Collaborate with clients, architects, and contractors to define project requirements, objectives, and deliverables.
- Review and approve engineering drawings, calculations, and technical documentation for elevator projects.
- Ensure effective project coordination between engineering, procurement, installation, and maintenance teams.
- Monitor project progress, timelines, and budgets, and proactively address any issues to ensure successful project completion.
- Conduct technical feasibility studies and evaluations for elevator system designs, considering safety, performance, and cost-effectiveness.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to clients on elevator system upgrades, modernization, and maintenance strategies.
- Stay updated with industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in elevator engineering.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation, process improvements, and quality assurance initiatives.
- Foster a collaborative and positive team environment, promoting knowledge sharing and professional development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably in Mechanical Engineering. Master’s degree a plus.
- Minimum of 8 years of engineering experience in the elevator industry or a related field.
- In-depth knowledge of elevator systems, codes, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Strong technical proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD, Inventor. Revit experience a plus.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on delivering high-quality and innovative solutions.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with clients and stakeholders at all levels.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in reviewing technical documentation and engineering drawings.
