SUMMARY:

The Engineering Manager is responsible for leading, mentoring, & directing a multidisciplinary team of engineers & technical staff. They oversee engineering projects, maintenance strategies, plant modifications, and capital projects. Optimize plant reliability & performance,ensuring compliance with safety, environmental,& regulatory standards.

POSITION INFO:

We are recruiting for Engineering Manager in the Power Station Plant

Required Qualifications & Experience

Education: • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Power Engineering.

Experience: • A minimum of 7-10+ years of experience in power plant engineering, operations, or maintenance.

Supervisory Experience: • At least 3-5 years in a leadership or managerial role.

Technical Knowledge:

Expertise in power station systems (boiler, turbine, electrical, balance of plant).

Licensing: • Professional Engineer (PE) license is often required or strongly preferred. Specific certifications (e.g., Boiler Operation Engineer) may be required depending on the plant type.

Essential Skills

Leadership: • Ability to lead diverse, multidisciplinary teams in high-pressure environments.

Technical Acumen: • Ability to evaluate technical soundness of proposals, engineering drawings, and schematics.

Problem-Solving: • Strong analytical skills for troubleshooting complex equipment and process issues.

Communication: • Excellent interpersonal skills to liaise with senior management, staff, and contractors.

Project Management: • Proficiency in MS Project or similar tools to manage project schedules and resources.

Key Responsibilities • Engineering Leadership & Strategy: Develop and implement engineering strategies, policies, and short/long-term objectives to improve plant efficiency. • Plant Maintenance & Reliability: Direct all maintenance and engineering functions, including preventative maintenance (PM) programs, to maximize plant reliability and minimize downtime. • Capital Projects Management: Manage capital projects, from conceptual design to commissioning, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget. • Safety & Compliance: Enforce a strong Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) culture. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements (e.g., Boiler Regulations, EPA, OSHA). • Team Development & HR: Hire, train, and mentor engineers and technical staff. Coach employees and develop high-performance teams. • Financial Control: Prepare and manage departmental budgets, including operating expenses (OPEX) and capital expenditures (CAPEX). • Contractor & Vendor Management: Negotiate and manage contracts with external service providers and suppliers. • Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Lead investigations into equipment failures or operational deviations to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
