Montréal Bronze est à la recherche d'un Gestionnaire d’Ingénierie. Le département d’ingénierie est responsable de la conception et de la qualification des valves, de l’ingénierie de production et des activités de gestion de projets. Le service d'ingénierie apporte son soutien à d'autres départements, notamment les achats, la production et la qualité.

Candidates will possess technical expertise, excellent leadership skills, a moderate degree of business awareness along with a passion for the engineering discipline. We offer a unique working environment that allows a hands‑on engineering professional to develop and grow their technical skills and business acumen and support critical naval defense activities for domestic shipyards as well as international allies.

Essential Job Functions

  • This position requires managing a team of engineers, drafters and technicians (5+ team members).
  • This position requires the ability to understand the technical requirements of our Naval customers and to implement engineering solutions to meet these demands.
  • Reviews and executes product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and customer requirements.
  • Coordinates activities with in‑house manufacturing shop personnel and our outside vendor base concerned with technical developments, scheduling and resolving engineering design and test problems.
  • Qualify new vendors and establish sound working relationships.
  • Evaluates and approves design changes, specifications and drawing releases.
  • Develop working knowledge of Montreal Bronze products and industry requirements. This may include some mechanical drafting work and will require walking the manufacturing floor to support emergent issue resolution.
  • Monitor and report on engineering KPIs.
  • Develop standard operating procedures and engineering workflows in partnership with the rest of the organization.
  • Mentor and guide engineering team through technical challenges as well as growth and development.
  • Lead engineering team meetings & support internal engineering PMO.
  • Own and maintain engineering‑specific software & tools.

  • Applied attention to detail in order to review work of peers such as checking drawings, customer contract reviews, technical proposals, etc.
  • Ability to self‑manage work in an environment of numerous competing tasks, including the wherewithal to ask for help when needed.
  • Familiarity with non‑destructive testing (NDT) and other manufacturing and inspection aspects (preferred).
  • Familiarity with FEA software such as ANSYS Mechanical (a plus).

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or related engineering field from an accredited institution.
  • Member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).

Experience

  • 7–15 years in a manufacturing/engineering environment.
  • Experience in valve manufacturing/design is an asset.
