Instrumentation & Controls Engineering Manager
Our client is a leading owner and operator of critical water and wastewater infrastructure in the Southwest, supporting fast-growing communities through reliable, secure, and sustainable utility operations. This leadership role offers the opportunity to guide advanced automation systems while developing a high-performing engineering team.
Key Responsibilities • Lead and develop an engineering team responsible for SCADA systems and data communication networks supporting water and wastewater facilities, ensuring secure and reliable operations. • Serve as the technical authority for process control systems, PLC programming, automation standards, and higher-level SCADA initiatives. • Manage contractor-led automation projects, including scoping, bidding, installation, and coordination across multiple sites. • Partner closely with Operations and internal stakeholders to deliver complex projects and continuously improve system performance.
Required Experience & Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience). • 8+ years of SCADA or OT cybersecurity experience, including design, programming, and implementation, with demonstrated team leadership. • Strong hands-on expertise with Allen-Bradley PLCs (including AOIs and UDTs), AVEVA System Platform/OMI, and industrial communication networks. • Proven leadership, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills in complex or regulated environments.
