We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the execution of high-impact, cross-functional initiatives. In this role, you will be responsible for guiding complex projects from early planning through delivery, directly managing engineering, product, design, stockroom and assembly team. This position will directly report to Executive VP of Global Operations & Strategy. The ideal candidate is highly organized, thrives in dynamic environments, and excels at creating clarity across multiple stakeholders and workstreams. You will be working closely with Sales, Marketing and other departments to deliver high quality laser base equipment. Extensive knowledge of industrial-grade laser material processing with expertise in laser equipment. Understanding of beam shaping, software, robotics, electronics and mechanical as well as production processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive end-to-end execution of complex technical product/equipment from concept to launch, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Manage engineering, assembly and product teams to design features, prioritize tasks, and maintain roadmaps with clear milestones and dependencies.
- Experience with digital and analog electronics, lasers, laser controls and drives, PC based controls and servos.
- Experience with Visual basic, CC, and/or C+.
- Directly contributes to the design verification and system level integration of analog and digital electronic subsystems.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams of optical, mechanical, electrical and software engineers to jointly develop new products in a fast-paced environment.
- Lead facility layout and equipment planning to support efficient material flow, assembly operations, and quality inspection.
- Prepare drawing packages, bills of materials, and installation documentation.
- Ensure drawing, manufacturing processes, travelers, documentation, and controls meet the requirements.
- Facilitate technical discussions for customize and scalable architecture optimizing delivery processes.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, providing product status updates and resolving escalations.
- Partner across functions to align execution strategies and drive consensus in decision-making processes.
- Coordinate discussions on technical feasibility and best practices, supporting design discussions and architecture reviews.
- Actively participates in the continuous improvement process by identifying and addressing opportunities to reduce costs, improve the product/process and overall operations within the business.
- Implement and manage Quality Control process and inspection processes.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience managing directly product/assembly and engineering teams.
- 3+ years of experience in technical project or program management, leading large-scale, cross-functional initiatives.
- Bachelor of Science or Engineering degree required.
- Proficiency with manufacturing tools and systems (ERP/MRP) and comfort with early-stage process development.
- Experience with SolidWorks is necessary. Create detailed 3D models and fabrication drawings in SolidWorks
- Analyzing electro/mechanical systems, developing machine designs, and utilizing computer-aided design
- Experience managing technical roadmaps, defining product requirements, and facilitating system architecture decisions.
- Proven ability to influence stakeholders, build consensus, and navigate ambiguity.
- Strong understanding of scalability, reliability, and system design trade-offs.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
- Strong knowledge of project tracking tools.
- Ability to drive continuous process improvements and automation.
