Salary: $115,000 - $143,000 + 20% Bonus Potential + 3 Weeks PTO + Medical, Dental and Vision + 401(k) + Life Insurance + Disability

Location: Ottawa, IL (commutable from surrounding areas)

This is a well‑established manufacturer and are part of a wider group with multiple sites, meaning there is scope to grow beyond Ottawa if you want it. The plant runs a continuous operation and the maintenance function is being set up to lead, not just react.

On offer is a Maintenance and Engineering Manager role where you will own the maintenance system from the top. You will manage a team of Maintenance Team Leaders, set priorities, define KPIs, develop training plans, oversee capital projects, and work side by side with department managers to improve reliability across the facility. You will be office‑based with regular shop floor presence. This is a strategic leadership role, not a hands‑on technician position.

This role would suit an engineering professional with a strong maintenance background who is ready to step out of the tools and into leadership, or a manager looking for a site where they can genuinely shape a department and leave a mark.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of Maintenance Team Leaders across a continuous manufacturing environment
• Own the maintenance system - set KPIs, build training programmes, and drive reliability improvements
• Manage capital projects from feasibility through to implementation, working with group engineering and external contractors
• Cross‑site exposure available - the company operates 3 additional plants with development opportunities for those who want them

Candidate Requirements

• Engineering background (Mechanical or Electrical) with proven maintenance leadership experience
• Supervisory experience in a continuous manufacturing environment - able to lead through Team Leaders
• Strong working knowledge of maintenance systems and reliability engineering principles
