About the Role

Are you an Engineering Manager with a strong background in aerospace mechanisms, latching systems, and metallic product design? Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of aerospace latches, locking systems, hinges, and precision mechanical assemblies
• Manage engineering teams responsible for new product development, legacy product improvements, and technical project execution
• Utilize SolidWorks 2D/3D CAD and FEA/CAE simulation tools to evaluate product performance, identify stress/failure points, and optimize designs
• Oversee product development from concept, simulation, and prototyping through environmental testing and production launch
• Partner closely with customers throughout the product development lifecycle to review specifications, technical requirements, and approval milestones
• Work cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and operations teams to ensure designs are producible and cost-effective
• Support R&D efforts including prototype/sample builds, testing coordination, and engineering validation activities
• Lead technical problem-solving efforts related to product performance, manufacturability, and production support
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on product development speed, engineering efficiency, and overall time-to-market

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline

Required Skills

• 10+ years of engineering experience within aerospace, airline, or precision metallic product environments
• Strong experience designing aerospace mechanisms, latches, locking systems, hinges, or related precision hardware
• Deep understanding of metallic materials, steel mechanical properties, fabrication processes, and product performance requirements
• Proficiency with SolidWorks, 3D CAD modeling, and FEA/CAE simulation analysis
• Experience identifying product failure points, stress analysis, crack propagation, and design optimization techniques
• Strong background in new product development and customer-driven engineering programs
• Experience working directly with aerospace customers throughout design reviews, prototype development, testing, and product signoff stages
• Strong understanding of GD&T, design-for-manufacturability, and engineering documentation standards
• Leadership experience managing engineering teams and multiple technical programs simultaneously
• Excellent communication, technical problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills
