Airline Support Manager

(FAA-regulated role)

What You’ll Do

• Lead a team of engineers who design and approve aircraft repairs (structural, mechanical, electrical, and engines).
• Review damage reports and repair plans to make sure they meet all FAA and manufacturer rules.
• Stay up to date on FAA requirements and manufacturer updates, and ensure they are applied correctly.
• Act as the main point of contact between the company, the FAA, and customers.
• Help grow the business by supporting proposals, presentations, and partnerships.
• Train, mentor, and support engineers to help them succeed and improve performance.
• Set team goals and track performance to align with company objectives.
• Improve processes to make the engineering team and overall organization more efficient.

Basic Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
• Experience managing projects or programs, including planning and strategy.
• At least 5 years of experience in airline, maintenance (MRO), or aircraft manufacturing engineering.
• Experience working with the FAA or authorized representatives.
• Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities, and organize workloads.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Familiar with AutoCAD or similar drafting software.

Preferred

• Six Sigma or LEAN training, especially in aircraft maintenance environments.
• FAA Designated Engineering Representative (DER) certification.
• Advanced degree or additional training in business or engineering.
• Previous experience managing people or formal leadership training.
