About the role
Airline Support Manager
(FAA-regulated role)
What You’ll Do
- Lead a team of engineers who design and approve aircraft repairs (structural, mechanical, electrical, and engines).
- Review damage reports and repair plans to make sure they meet all FAA and manufacturer rules.
- Stay up to date on FAA requirements and manufacturer updates, and ensure they are applied correctly.
- Act as the main point of contact between the company, the FAA, and customers.
- Help grow the business by supporting proposals, presentations, and partnerships.
- Train, mentor, and support engineers to help them succeed and improve performance.
- Set team goals and track performance to align with company objectives.
- Improve processes to make the engineering team and overall organization more efficient.
Basic Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Experience managing projects or programs, including planning and strategy.
- At least 5 years of experience in airline, maintenance (MRO), or aircraft manufacturing engineering.
- Experience working with the FAA or authorized representatives.
- Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities, and organize workloads.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Familiar with AutoCAD or similar drafting software.
Preferred
- Six Sigma or LEAN training, especially in aircraft maintenance environments.
- FAA Designated Engineering Representative (DER) certification.
- Advanced degree or additional training in business or engineering.
- Previous experience managing people or formal leadership training.
