Engineering Project Manager

About the Role

Join a small, highly specialized engineering and manufacturing team focused on delivering custom material handling systems. We’re looking for an Engineering Project Manager who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment and enjoys owning projects from concept through completion.

This is not a traditional engineering role. It’s a blend of project management, customer interaction, and technical oversight—ideal for someone who enjoys wearing multiple hats, working directly with clients, and seeing their work come to life on the production floor.

We’re looking for someone who is naturally curious, highly proactive, and energized by solving problems in a fast-moving environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Own and manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
• Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, working closely with sales, engineering, and production
• Lead projects from initial concept and estimating through design, build, and delivery
• Coordinate internal engineers, suppliers, subcontractors, and field teams to ensure successful execution
• Support estimating and proposal development for new and existing business
• Review and contribute to engineering/design decisions for custom equipment (mechanical/electrical systems)
• Quickly adapt to shifting priorities, tight timelines, and evolving customer requirements
• Provide leadership and direction to a small team

What We’re Looking For

Must-Have

• Proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills and comfort working directly with customers
• Background in engineering, manufacturing, construction, or a related field
• Experience with 3D modeling or CAD tools (any platform)
• Highly organized, proactive, and adaptable

Nice-to-Have (Not Required)

• PMP certification
• Experience with material handling, heavy equipment
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar tools
• Mechanical engineering background
